New York Fashion Week September 2008 Warot Subsrisunjai and Mike Feeney

Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, Warot was inspired by artist Man Ray, shown in his geometric silhouette and monochromatic palette. “Man Ray’s surrealist artworks intrigued me. His black and white photography inspired me in the monochromatic palettes and his use of geometric shapes influenced me to create the strong structural silhouettes. I incorporated his use of the human figure where it resembled another man-made object in the construction of my outfit because not only did it challenged the conventional views of the human body, but it also allowed me to share my point of view of how fashion design can make the body more than what it is.”

Warot’s collection will be shown with Mike Feeney’s Acrylic accessories. Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Mike studied Fine Art Sculpture and has found a new passion in creating accessories.  He finds inspiration in the engineering of bridges and buildings to books and science fiction.  He works in Acrylic, steel, bronze and nickel.  The Acrylic is sponsored by Tap Plastics, El Cerrito.
