The inspiration for Ephemeral Defraction immerged from the installation artist Olafur Elliason’s exhibit Take Your Time. The play of light and geometry was strong in Elliason’s exhibit and was a major influence on the design details. Also, the idea of nature versus artificiality was an influence on the silhouette and the use of Mylar.
Michelle Clarke, Textile Designer, was born and raised in El Paso, TX.
Michelle printed with disperse dyes on Bristol and heat transferred the design onto Mylar plastic with multiple results of ink flowing through water to look liked stained glass.
