My senior thesis collection is a call to return back to nature. My inspiration comes from the natural environment and the plants in the forest. Unlike the more modern and urban designs I’ve done before, this time I became more focused on recyclable and handmade fabrics. The style of the collection is more casual, with the tailoring and irregular skirts echoing the feeling of wilderness. I want my designs to be stylish and unique while being comfortable.
In this collection, I used more handmade items, such as tie-dye fabrics and macrame. I tie-dyed the fabrics at home naturally with various plants. In order to fit the theme and advocate recycling, I also added some handmade parts, which add unique textures to the linen garments.
