Yesterday, the Fashion School’s Senior Director of Merchandising, Keanan Duffty, offered Product Development students the opportunity to learn from one of the most comprehensive, socially conscious beauty brands in the industry. Aveda educators Jenna Summers and Emma Hughes arrived with both product and presentation to demonstrate to students how this global beauty brand has achieved its industry status by thinking “beyond the bottle.”
Summers and Hughes’ discussion highlighted all elements of brand development including the origins of Aveda’s ayurvedic philosophy, the importance of the natural ingredients sourced for each product, and the global community the brand has built around its production process and philanthropic initiatives.
Concluding the presentation, Summers and Hughes fielded questions from students and allowed them the opportunity to experience a few of the signature products that have given Aveda the cult beauty status it boasts worldwide.
