Fashion School Daily & Social Media Center Are Seeking Interns For Fall 2017

Wondering where to intern this Fall? Well, look no further – the Social Media Center & Fashion Journalism programs at the School of Fashion are on the lookout for Fall 2017 interns! Read on for details on the positions and how to apply. These internships are for course credit only (unpaid).

Position 1: Fashion School Daily intern will need to be able to assist and learn about the following:

  1. Draft content to be posted to FashionSchoolDaily.com– this is your moment to shine as a fashion media specialist!
  2. Draft and post content to social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram
  3. Monitor Academy’s social media network for story ideas
  4. Cultivate and grow School of Fashion social media followers
  5. Produce engaging and relevant content
  6. Manage a daily, weekly, and monthly content calendars

 

Position 2: Social Media Center intern will need to be able to assist and learn about the following:

  1. Draft content to be posted to Social Media Center – this is your moment to shine as a social media specialist!
  2. Draft and post content to social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Medium and Flipboard
  3. Monitor leading social media networks for story ideas
  4. Cultivate and grow Social Media Center’s social media followers
  5. Produce engaging and relevant content
  6. Manage a daily, weekly, and monthly content calendars

To qualify for the internship, you must be a current student at Academy of Art University with a 3.0 GPA or higher. BFA students must have completed 90 units and and MA students must have already passed his or her mid-point review. Any major can apply!

As the intern, you will enjoy your own desk and computer in our office, a chance to work with a variety of industry contacts, and practice and hone skills needed for future career as a content editor, blogger, and/or social media specialist. 

We are seeking a candidate with proficiency/skill in the following:

  1. Works independently and as a team member
  2. Punctual/on time
  3. Organized and Detail Oriented
  4. Ability to multitask
  5. Excellent Communications – interpersonal, phone, email/written
  6. Understanding of Photoshop / photo-editing
  7. Microsoft Excel + Microsoft Office
  8. Google docs
