Mark your calendars! The late Oscar de la Renta, 2000 School of Fashion guest of honor, is being honored with a retrospective at the deYoung Museum. Opening March 12, 2016 and running through May 30, 2016, the deYoung Museum will premiere a collection of over 100 examples of the late fashion designer’s work. The garments featured in the exhibit span  fifty years of the designer’s career as one of New York society’s and the fashion industry’s treasured artisans. The exhibition will be curated by former Vogue editor-at-large and friend of the designer André Leon Talley. Pieces will be drawn from the designers personal collection, private lenders and the Fine Arts Museums costume collection, and will take viewers through a timeline of de la Renta’s Dominican Republic upbringing, the rise of his career in Spain, his early work at other houses and the success of his eponymous label.

Head over to the de Young Museum on March 12th and take in what is sure to be one of the best the fashion exhibits of the year!
