A few quick questions with Sun Young Youn
- What is your favorite food and where you go to get it in SF? I like Shabu Shabu at Thai Stick on O’Farrell because San Francisco is really cold, so sometimes I like to eat hot soup for dinner. The broth there is really delicious and I love to eat their vegetables. Haha
- Your must-haves for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week? My sewing tool box and my collection clothes.
- What are your celebration plans after the show? I plan on having dinner with my family and friends after the show.
- If you could have fashion insider come to the show – who would it be and why? I would like Scott Schuman, the founder/blogger/photographer for The Sartorialist, to come because he has tons of blog followers and if he featured my collection on his site, my clothes would be exposed to a lot of new people who are interested in my type of aesthetic.
A few quick questions with Dipti Irla
- What is your favorite food and where do you go to get it in SF? I like the food at Capt. Eddie Rickenbeck’s at the 2nd street. I have gone there with my friends at school.
- Your must-haves for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week? Scissors, needle, thread, seam ripper( though I hope I don’t have to use it a lot)!
- What are your celebration plans after the show?Have dinner with friends and family after the show and spend time in New York the next couple of days, because it’s my first time here.
- If you could have fashion insider come to the show – who would it be and why? I would like Manou from Wearabout. He is an Indian blogger who blogs about Indian fashion and compares it to Indian culture. I find his posts very inspirational. My collection is inspired by India, so it will be great to have it reviewed by him.

A few quick questions with Meredith Acton
- What is your favorite food and where do you go to get it in SF? I go through phases, but currently I’ve been into small plates/tapas. I love ordering a variety and sharing with friends! I go to Andalu on 16th and Guererro for their “Crispy Mac and Cheese,” and Lolo on 22nd for their “taco tropical.”
- Your must-haves for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week? Coffee, needle & thread, and smart phone GPS
- What are your celebration plans after the show? Dinner with family, champagne with friends, and catching up on sleep!
- If you could have fashion insider come to the show – who would it be and why? I would love to have a few fashion journalists come to the show. Suzie Menkes (International Herald Tribune) because of her long-standing experience in the industry and because she has been so supportive of the AAU fashion program. Nick Axelrod (Elle Magazine), because he has a fresh way of capturing what’s going on in fashion today.

- What is your favorite food and where do you go to get it in SF? I eat pretty much everything! But something I’ve been missing when really hungry is the porchetta sandwich from the Roli Roti truck in SF (Ferry Building, Thurs & Sat). I tried the sandwich at Porchetta in the east village here in NY, and it is NOT the same…
- Your must-haves for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week? Caffeine. Or you mean to wear? Something comfortable, especially for my feet.
- What are your celebration plans after the show? Eat, drink, sleep!!
- If you could have fashion insider come to the show – who would it be and why? I honestly have no idea. Consuelo Castiglioni? I’m happy to have anyone see the show. I’m excited to be there myself – I still haven’t seen any of the final pieces!!

- What is your favorite food and where do you go to get it in SF? My favorite food is my mom’s fried rice..Sadly i can’t get it in San Francisco so i’ve decided to learn and cook for myself at home.
- Your must-haves for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week? Cellphone for google map!! I’ve never been to New York. I don’t want to get lost..
- What are your celebration plans after the show? Having dinner with my husband : D
- If you could have fashion insider come to the show – who would it be and why? I have so many..However,I would say Yohji Yamamoto who is one of my favorite designers~he is so inspiring.

- What is your favorite food and where you go to get it in SF? Best San Fran food has been Super Duper Burgers & Shakes on Market. Can’t beat the vodka-infused chocolate milk shakes!
- Your must-haves for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week? New York Baseball Giants hat. Hope the spirit of Willie Mayes helps inspire our G-men during the September crunch time.
- What are your celebration plans after the show? Surf safari down to SoCal — I need a real summer!
- If you could have fashion insider come to the show – who would it be and why? Jane and Nick Bower. These two have been a tremendous inspiration, but will be unable to attend due to Jane feeling under the weather. Feel better Jane!
