Diane Von Furstenberg is celebrating the 40th anniversary of her iconic wrap dress with the opening of the “Journey of a Dress” exhibition in Los Angeles.
The exhibit will chronicle the journey of the DVF wrap dress across four decades, and will include portraits of the designer by celebrated artists such as Andy Warhol, Chuck Close, Francesco Clemente, Helmut Newton and Annie Leibovitz, as well as new pieces from Dustin Yellin and other contemporary artists.
What’s more, 10 students from the School of Fashion’s Styling and Visual Merchandising departments have been selected to participate in the installation of the exhibit in LA! Students will assist with dressing the mannequins for the exhibit starting today, through January 7th, to get the exhibition ready for its public debut on January 10th, and will be working closely with both the museum curator and DVF herself!
Journey of a Dress will be on display in the historic Wilshire May Company building through April 1st. To learn more about the exhibition, click here.
