Fashionable Lunchtime: Lecture @ the San Jose Museum of Art

There is more than meets the eye in every good painting, film or … garment? Since fashion is increasingly recognized as a visual art form, it’s fitting that a museum would focus on the fascinating subject of textiles. If you are in the Bay Area tomorrow, swing by the San Jose Museum of Art for its lunchtime lecture series featuring Mathew Gerring, fashion merchandising instructor at the School of Fashion.

His talk will explore the evolution of textile use in fashion and beyond. The lecture accompanies current exhibition Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial which highlights work of innovative fashion designers such as Mary Katrantzou, Gareth Pugh, and Giambattista Valli. What’s for lunch? Pure genius!
