Design Contest for AAU Students: PARK it here!

From apartments to seats at the bar to a spot at Bikram (by the windows!), the issue of finding space in San Francisco is an increasingly difficult aspect of city living. This summer, SF art and design studio Rebar, along with the Academy of Art University School of Landscape Architecture is giving design students the opportunity to spread out a bit with this year’s annual PARK(ing) Day Competition. On September 20th, the School of Landscape Architecture will be hosting up to eight Park(ing) Day spaces adjacent to AAU buildings within San Francisco, and they want YOU to design them.

Open to all students in the University, contest entrants will design a 9’X20′ public space in association with one of the Academy of Art University’s buildings that inspire you! This space will be a one day temporary installation, celebrating PARK(ing) Day September 20th, 2013 and generating critical debate on how to improve the quality of the urban human habitat.

Winning teams will be given $150 to use towards the building of their PARK(ing) Day installation. The deadline for entries is July 19th.
