Every year on Halloween, millions of children across the world dress up as ghosts and goblins, pirates and princesses in hopes of receiving candy for their doorbell ringing skills. However, as we grow older, things are done slightly different. We still dress up as the same things, just a little more risqué. Girls put ears on their head with only lingerie on, and they call themselves a “sexy mouse”. This “sluttification” is quite prevalent with children from ages 16-25, and is more common than swine flu in Mexico. I am still waiting to see someone accomplish a “sexy clown”.

My experiences in the city on Halloween have proven to be joyous. I saw so many unique and quirky costumes this weekend, and to my delight, not too many lingerie based outfits (that doesn’t include guys. I saw some weird things). Instead of the usual store-bought costumes, San Franciscans put more effort and time into their pieces (whether we are a creative city, or a broke one). I saw homemade Bjork costumes, Jesus, and Bowie.
This was a great Minnie Mouse costume. She was wearing a red polka dotted skirt which you can kind of see. The best part was that she put her hair into two big buns to emulate ear. KUDOS.
Here we have a homemade Jesus. Ten points for making him badass.
This guy was funny. I had seen the iPod commercial costume before, but had to take his photo due to admirable craftsmanship and the iDrink sign in the corner.
Two words: GREAT. BOWIE.
I don’t think that there could be a more fitting Wayne and Garth.
