Creative community has often been the first responder to social changes and last bastion of ideals under threat. Fashion Week Daily reminds everyone to consider submitting your entries for the ARTS THREAD “Diversity NOW!” contest. Visionaries who call upon us to unite, speak up, take risks, and push boundaries in fashion are as needed and welcome as ever. Diversity NOW! encourages students to build the narrative for a new generation that embraces a bolder concept beauty in age, gender, race, size, and physical ability. DEADLINE IS ON March 1, 2017.
For the fifth time, ARTS THREAD has joined forces with All Walks Beyond the Catwalk and i-D as a platform for the competition in categories such as illustration, graphic design, poster, fashion film, journalism, photography, and garment design, including textiles, jewelry, and accessories. Academy of Art University students are uniquely positioned to contribute to an inclusive creative discourse. For the complete entry requirements, check out the initial announcement post. Let your work speak your truth!
“Can you contribute to an alternative fashion future, where the individual is celebrated, where fashion uses its colossal creative skills to emphasize the distinctive beauty of the unique human form?”— All Walks
Selected entries will be showcased on allwalks.org and artsthread.com. Last year’s finalists and winners are available for review here.
