El Guincho.
Happy Friday Everyone! For those of you that were in summer school, we hope your finals weren’t too brutal – and now you can enjoy the rest of the summer! For today’s edition of A Little Music for Your Friday, we’ve got an older favorite from a few years back.
El Guincho is a Spanish musician known for his eclectic sound that incorporates everything from afrobeat and dub to Tropicália. His last album, Pop Negro, was released in 2010, and includes our favorite track Bombay. The steel drums are amazing and – even though we can’t understand a single word – we love his sound. It makes us feel as if we were on a tropical island, dancing in the sand, the perfect summer daydream.
