Tim Hamilton’s collection stood out among all the black in Milan and Paris this season. The inventive use of visual texture enraptured viewers otherwise bored with matte and smooth fabrics from the runways at Givenchy and Gianfranco Ferré. Lustrous leather pants, jacquard cardigans, and beaded suits found themselves center stage on the catwalk. Tactile garments were layered over each other emphasizing the boxy and slim silhouettes. The last model, sporting a sequin and bead-encrusted epitomized the no-nonsense attitude of the collection. Look after look, Hamilton’s use of texture proves that his way of thinking in the dark is different.
