The theme of my thesis project is whale fall. A “Whalefall” is an event in which a whale’s carcass sinks to the ocean floor, providing a sudden influx of nutrients that can sustain deep-sea communities for years. In this project, I mainly use the pattern on the body of the whale as the source of inspiration in the design; the season is fall, and the dress is my main silhouette.
