I approached my senior thesis knowing I wanted to work with netting. One day when I was designing my fabric with netting, I saw Claude Monet’s Water Lilies series. I studied Monet’s brushwork and found that using multiple layers of netting could perfectly represent Monet’s Water Lilies. My choice of materials includes mesh and organza. The translucent gauze reflects the kind of hazy feeling in oil painting.
