Accessory Design Challenge – $500 Prize!!
Circle & Square, a local SF boutique known for their selection of stunning accessories, is sponsoring a design challenge! They are asking students to design and create an original handbag inspired by the Valentine’s Day festivities. This does not have to be a literal interpretation, just anything about the month of love that inspires you!
All of the designs will be sold at Circle and Square, and the winning designer will receive a $500 prize! This is a wonderful opportunity to gain exposure and experience for anyone with an accessory obsession, so get your creative juices flowing.
If you’re interested in submitting a design, please email your intention to participate to fashionschooldaily@gmail.com by Wednesday, February 15th. Be sure to include your name, student ID number, and major (including BFA/MFA). Students are encouraged to take process pictures along the way, to be featured on Fashion School Daily and Circle and Square’s blog!
All entries must be submitted by February 29, 2012. Good luck – we can’t wait to see what you come up with!!

Rules and Regulations:
The design must be original. Students are allowed to use any materials they like, but the finished product must be finely crafted. All handbags must be fully functional, with proper closures, working zippers, etc. The designs will be judged by Circle and Square owners Bunny Fayne and Tracy Albers, and School of Fashion Instructor Lori Goldman. All money gained from the sale of the handbags at Circle and Square will be split with the designer 50/50. Contest open to Academy of Art University Students only.
