During the process of creating my collection, I was inspired by a poem called “Ode to the Lotus Flower” by Zhou Dunyi. Zhou Dunyi was an ancient Chinese poet of the Song Dynasty. The poem expresses the images and qualities of the lotus flower, a symbol of purity and resilience.
I utilized digitally printed fabrics in my collection. Each design represents
my impression of the lotus flower when it is in bloom at different times of the summer. I used flounces and pleats in my design process, reflecting an overall sense of elegance and flow, just like the Lotus flower.
