I grew up in Taiwan and traveled to the US when I was fifteen years old for school. I took my first sewing class during my junior year of high school as an elective class, during which my teacher encouraged me to look into pursuing fashion design. During my senior year, I moved to California and began my journey at Academy of Art the following year.
The basis behind my senior thesis collection comes from a picture I took of a butterfly caught in a spider’s web, which I felt was both sad and beautiful. The materials I use give a delicate and flowy feel to the pieces. Despite it being a spring/summer collection, the looks have a darker mood to them, with gray as the primary color.
