Celebrate graduation week with a diverse group of up-and-coming creatives.
This Friday, the Academy of Art University’s retail store will host a party for students, faculty and alumni. The venue, called Shop657 (named after its location at 657 Sutter Street), will be a destination to network with students and faculty. The event will also shine a spotlight on the designers behind women’s brand Malus Marcoo — Lancy Ma, Ares Hoang and Mavis Lu — who are alumni of the university.
In addition, DJ Jordan Deherrer will be performing live at the event. Deherrera is one of the two members of San Francisco electro-rock group Manics, which was recently signed by Dim Mak, Steve Aoki’s record label.
Shop657 is a curated store that features the fashion collections of AAU students and alumni; it houses some of the school’s finest work and showcases diverse fabrications from students of different majors and backgrounds.
