Today’s Monday Morning Photos is dedicated to Bill Cunningham, the father of street fashion photography. We were honored when he showed up at the Academy of Art’s Spring 2012 Fashion Show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week – guests offered their seats, and Gladys Perint Palmer guided him down the runway to a spot in the front row (such an amazing sight). He was the perfect unexpected guest!
Bill’s career began quite by chance: he was walking on the street in New York and spotted a coat that caught his eye, so he began photographing it. It just happened to be screen siren Greta Garbo under that coat. His amazing eye and talent have inspired a generation of photographers – and we hope he inspires you too!
