Princess Diana’s black taffeta dress made by David and Elizabeth Emanuel (pictured above) was recently auctioned off for a little over $276,000 at Kerry Taylor Auctions in London. Chilean fashion museum Fundación Museo De La Moda snagged the dress as well as an original copy of the invoice, fashion sketches, and photographs of Di wearing it. But why so much? Well, first off, it is Princess Di. She is considered an icon in the fashion world and pop culture. Whether she sported a gown or a pair trousers, people paid attention. People even paid more attention to her rumored scandals or even if she blew her nose — which is why we thought we would just have a moment with her.
