Before you gettin’ low with Flo-Rida, listening to Kanye’s discourse and doing the Dougie, there was a socially aware hip-hop and stylish group by the name of A Tribe Called Quest. Consisting of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White, the group artistically broke ground in the genre and then broke up in 1998 — and then they reunited for a tour in 2008 and actor/director/hardcore fan Michael Rapaport decided to make a documentary about them called Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest.
