Jonathan David Baker was born and raised in Chicago. He received a B.F.A. in Fashion Design and an M.F.A. in Knitwear Design from the Academy. Jonathan attended Toni and Guy Academy London, and has worked as a hair stylist for Toni and Guy, and Aveda. He is presently at The Barber Lounge in San Francisco, and since 2007, he has interned for Rodarte in preparation for their NYFW shows. His woven and knit women’s collection of lace, silk organza, tulle, and fox was inspired by Japanese underground culture including geisha houses, Kabuki Theatre, tattoos, and gangs.
