On Wednesday, October 5, John Varvatos hosted a benefit concert featuring the amazing blues guitarist Gary Clark, Jr., with all donations benefitting 826 Valencia – a local non-profit dedicated to helping students with their writing skills. Fashion and music lovers alike crowded into the John Varvatos store on Maiden Lane, grabbing drinks and catching up with friends before the performance. Most of you probably haven’t heard of Gary Clark, Jr. – which you should fix right now – but he is well known within the musical community. His performance was electric and the guitar solos absolutely amazing. He somehow managed to personify Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, and John Legend all at once – creating something that was pure Gary Clark, Jr. And it was all for an amazing cause! What’s not to love about that?
