Fashion School News Alumni Spotlight: 2006 MFA Knitwear Graduate Quyen Nguyen's Spring 2008 Collection

We caught up with 2006 MFA Knitwear Graduate Quyen Nguyen who just returned from her new showroom in Los Angeles. “Sometimes I wonder what I’ve gotten myself into,” she told me. Alas, we all often wonder that!

You showed your collection during New York Fashion Week in 2006,
how was that?
It was fun to see all the hard work on the runway and it was interesting to see what goes into putting on a fashion show

Did that show prompt you to launch your own line?
Definitely!

How have the stores reacted?
People have reacted positively to the line, but growing the business takes time, patience and lots of capital.

Favorite thing about San Francisco?
Weather and laid back attitude.

Favorite thing about the School of Fashion?
I really enjoyed the knitwear program and some of the instructors were really good.
