Shop657, an entirely student-driven clothing store in the heart of San Francisco, is proud to display Alice in the Tenderloin, Academy of Art University’s collaborative student-produced label. The Tenderloin and Alice in Wonderland served as the themes as students designed and produced their own label as well as the storefront and presentation of the label. Fashion Design students Yuki Zhang, Cherish Bai, Sylvia Rivera, Meeneshwer Madhu and others, aimed to create a “street-style, but not too casual look.”
With the help of Academy of Art University School of Fashion’s Director of Fashion Merchandising, Jinah Oh, Full-Time Visual Merchandising Instructor Matt Gerring and Associate Director of 3D Design, Construction, Draping & Flat Pattern Rob Curry, this kind of hands-on project has provided the students with the experience needed to succeed in any side of the fashion world.
